The River Church Men’s Fellowship group actively seeks to experience Jesus Christ in our midst, so that we may be transformed into the Christian men the Lord designed us to be.

Statement of Beliefs

  1. As men, we have the unique responsibility of being the spiritual leaders and ministers to our families (and future families). We believe we are all sinners that actively rebel against God, deserving of His wrath and condemnation. Yet God continued to love us, and has saved and restored us through the finished work of Jesus Christ. By experiencing Christ and through His Spirit, we are progressively transformed to His likeness. Through this transformation alone are we able to be the spiritual leaders and ministers to our families (and future families) the Lord designed us to be.
  2. Our sin gets in the way. We are natural doubters, liars, wanderers, thrill-seekers, approval junkies, fortress builders and comfort addicts. All of these sins stem from pride and prevent us from becoming the men the Lord wants us to be.
  3. While we have been justified through Christ, sanctification is a lifelong process. While we have received salvation through Christ, we are still “work in progress” struggling with sin every day. We rely on God to transform us and believe that He works through prayer, fellowship, and His Word. We share our experiences to encourage and strengthen one another and use scripture in its full context as our guide.
  4. All members of the fellowship are friends and fellow servants, bound by love and honor which come from God alone. We are recipients of God’s love and grace through Christ, and love and respect one another as equals.
  5. We hold in strictest confidence any personal information shared by other members, unless permission to divulge it is given by any whom its disclosure might affect. This strict confidence encompasses our spouses or significant others.
